Reading ECC church to mark 15th anniversary [Religion Digest]

• All Souls Ecumenical Catholic Communion (ECC) Church, 640 Centre Ave., Reading, will be celebrating its 15th anniversary this weekend marked by a visit from the Most Rev. Paul “Pablo” Burson of Denver, the Presiding Bishop of the Communion. There will be a pot luck dinner tonight at 6 in the Pine Room. On Sunday, Mass will be held in the chapel with Burson as the main celebrant with con-celebrants the Rev. Henry M. Pruski, pastor, and the Rev. Denise Roberts, pastor of Healing Shepherd ECC, Chester Springs. A reception and fellowship will follow in the Heritage Room.

• St. John’s Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, will host “Traveling to the Resurrection,” a special concert presented by Donna Danielski and Phyllis Sands, on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. A free will offering will be taken, and light refreshments will follow the event.

• Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Douglass Township, Montgomery County, will have Coffee and Conversation at 8:30 and 10 a.m. in the Welcome Center on Sunday. There will be an escape room experience, “Escape Famine in the Wilderness,” on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the social hall. There will be snacks for all and prizes for those who escape the famine.

• The Rev. Stephen Claycomb will be the guest preacher at the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township. Claycomb is pastor of Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church, Hamilton Township, Monroe County. Claycomb served Reformation from 2007-2019 and returns to participate in Reformation’s year-long 75th anniversary celebration. A reception will follow the service in the parish hall.

• The United Church of Christ of Robesonia, 301 W. Penn Ave., will have a history event after its 10:15 a.m. worship service on Sunday, which will include a healing service. Refreshments will be served, and then a time of gathering the history of the former Zion UCC Womelsdorf congregation and the former St. Paul’s UCC Robesonia congregation will happen until approximately 2 p.m.  The men’s fellowship breakfast and meeting is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. today at the Heidelberg Restaurant, 910 W. Penn Ave., Robesonia.  A spring fling gathering will be held today at 4:30 p.m. at P&J Pizza, 133 W. High St., Womelsdorf. Bible Study will be held on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. by Zoom. • There will be a confirmation reunion at Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, 340 Moselem Church Road, Richmond Township, during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday. A meal will follow. RSVP by calling 610-63-6853 or emailing zionmoselemlutheran340@gmail.com. On April 21, the church will host the Pennsylvania Grange at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. A clothing drive continues through Sunday. Put donations in plastic bags and bring them to church.

• Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 Route 100, Washington Township, will have a flea market and clothing sale next Saturday from 8-11 a.m.

• St. John’s Gernant’s Church (A Federated Congregation) 13 Gernant’s Church Road, Ontelanuee Township will have David Yoder as guest leader for the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, with Holy Communion. Fellowship will follow the service. On Tuesday, the church will be serving a free community drive-thru meal from 5-6 p.m. or until the supply runs out. The meal will consist of a pork chop, macaroni and cheese, apple sauce, bread and butter and a cookie. The church will be holding a Designer Bags/Gift Basket Bingo on April 21. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Advance tickets $20/at the door $25. Call the church office at 610-926-2384 for tickets.

• St. John’s Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, will hold a free drive-through take-out meal today from 4:30-5:30 p.m. No registration necessary.

• The Rev. Barry Spatz will be guest pastor for the 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday at Salem Lutheran Church, 8410 Lancaster Ave., Bethel Township.

In order to have an event listed in the religion digest, it must be something that is not just a regular worship service.
