Ardmore Baptist Church, 501 Miller St., Winston-Salem, will celebrate Transfiguration Sunday with services at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. Pastor Tyler Tankersley will conclude his series about the Light of the World with a sermon from Mark 9:2-9 titled “Dazzling.” The 10:45 service will be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook. Lent activities

Ardmore Moravian Church, 2013 W. Academy St., Winston-Salem, will have an Ash Wednesday drive-thru service from 7 to 10 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the church. The Rev. St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 810 N. Highland Ave., Winston-Salem, will hold its annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a choice of pork or turkey sausage. Eat in or carry out. The cost is $10. For more information, call 336-971-1450 or 336-724-2614.

Mount Carmel Methodist Church, 4265 Ebert Road, Winston-Salem, will have a free pancake supper and Ash Wednesday service at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Shallowford Presbyterian Church, 1200 Lewisville-Clemmons Road, Lewisville, will offer a service of Taizé Prayer for the time of Lent at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 18. The service will include the sung prayers of the Community of Taizé, scripture readings, and a period of silence. An introduction to the sung prayers of Taizé will begin at 7:25 p.m. The outdoor Shallowford Labyrinth (weather permitting) and indoor Stations of the Cross will be open for meditation prior to the service. Mount Carmel Methodist Church, 4265 Ebert Road, Winston-Salem, is offering GriefShare at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays. It is a 13-week grief recovery support group. The program began Jan. 10, but you may join anytime. For more information, call 336-788-4183.

Parkway United Church of Christ, 1465 Irving St., Winston-Salem, will have a potluck brunch at 10 a.m. Sunday with a processional to worship at 11. The Irving Street Ramblers jazz band will perform.

Shallowford Presbyterian Church, 1200 Lewisville-Clemmons Road, Lewisville, will have its second concert of the 2024 Shallowford Series Concerts at 3 p.m. Sunday. Violinists from the UNC School of the Arts will present “The Path of Romanticism” a program including works by Beethoven, Lalo, Bruch, Debussy and Prokofiev. The concert is free with an opportunity for donations in support of the UNCSA Outreach Programs. Light refreshments will follow the performance. St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2400 Dellabrook Road, Winston-Salem, will have online “GriefShare,” a support group for people experiencing grief due to the death of a loved one. The fourth edition of the in-person and online Saturday sessions will begin March 2 and last 13 weeks. The interactive sessions feature biblical teaching on grief and the grieving process.
