Mohini Ekadashi 2024: Significance
Mohini Ekadashi holds a great religious significance among Lord Vishnu devotees. They dedicated this day to worship Lord Vishnu. Not only in India but Ekadashi Vrat is observed by all the Lord Vishnu devotees across the world. This day has its great importance for the devotees as Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of a nymph. Devotees celebrate this Ekadashi by observing strict fast and offer prayers to Shri Hari Vishnu and Lord Krishna (another form of Bhagwan Vishnu). They try to stay away from all types of bad habits not even on this particular day but they try to adopt this habit in their daily routine. Ekadashi fast is considered as one of the most powerful fast. People worship Mohini form of Lord Vishnu on this day.

Mohini Ekadashi 2024: Story
According to the Hindu Mythology, at the time of churning ocean (Samudra Manthan) when the nectar was churned out and Lord Dhanvantri appeared along with the Amrit Kalash. Due to this Demons and Deities had a fight as who will consume this nectar and to end the fight between demons and deities. Guru Brihaspati, who is Guru of all deities went to the Lord Vishnu to seek his help then Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of a nymph, who is now popularly known as Mohini and took the Amrit Kalash from Demons and started distributing the Amrit to ensure their immortality. That’s the reason why people celebrate this day as Mohini Ekadashi and offer prayers the Vishnu.
Mohini Ekadashi 2024: Puja Vidhi
1. Devotees wake up early in the morning and take a bath before starting puja rituals.
2. They clean the house and puja room also and prepare home made bhog.
3. Place an idol of Lord Vishnu on a wooden plank along with Shree Yantra or Lord Krishna idol and Laddoo Gopal Ji.
4. Light a diya with desi ghee, offer home made bhog, adorn the idol with flowers and garland.
5. Offering Tulsi Patra is considered auspicious but breaking Tulsi leaves on the day of Ekadashi is prohibited.
6. Recite Mohini Vrat Katha, Shree Hari Stotram, Vishnu Sahasranama and chant Om Namo Bhagvate Vasudevaye 108 times.
7. In the evening also, one must offer prayers to Lord Vishnu then they can eat something but that should not include any grain.
8. People should spend their day getting involved in religious and spiritual activities.
