Ardmore Baptist Church, 501 Miller St., Winston-Salem, will celebrate the second Sunday of Easter with services at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. Pastor Tyler Tankersley will begin a new sermon series on Resurrection People, from the book of Acts. This week’s sermon is “Resurrection People…Befriend” from Acts 4:32-35. All Together Ardmore groups and classes will not meet Sunday. Bishop will deliver the message at the Easter Sunrise Service at 6:45 a.m. Front doors will open at 6:30 a.m. Sunday School will follow at 8:15 a.m. This week’s lesson is Faith of Four Friends (Scriptural reference – Luke 5:17-26; Key verses – Luke 5:18-19). The worship service begins at 9:45 a.m. with announcements and devotion followed by the morning message delivered by Senior Pastor Dennis W. Bishop. Fundraisers

Pfafftown Baptist Church, 4336 Transou Road, Pfafftown, will have a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Friedland Moravian Church, 2750 Friedland Church Road, Winston-Salem, will have its spring barbecue from 4 to 7 p.m. April 13. All you can eat pork, and chicken barbecue with slaw, hush puppies, green beans, and homemade desserts. The cost is $14 for adults and $6 for children 6-12. Take-out or eat-in available. Bethania Moravian Church, 5545 Main St., Bethania, the Women’s Fellowship will have a chicken pie supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. April 27. Eat in or take out. Plates include chicken pie, green beans, baked apples, slaw, and dessert. The cost is $15 for adults and children under 12 is $7. Whole chicken pies are available, limit of four pies.

Special activities

Shallowford Presbyterian Church, 1200 Lewisville-Clemmons Road, Lewisville, will have a free concert by the UNC School of the Arts Flute Ensemble at 3 p.m. Sunday. The ensemble consists of Bo Boisen, Ariel Collins, Daniel Cruz, Ivan Felipe Muñoz Vargas, Phoebe Plyant, Margaret Sechrest and Gabrielle Small. They will be accompanied by Robert Rocco, pianist. St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2400 Dellabrook Road, Winston-Salem, will have online “GriefShare,” a support group for people experiencing grief due to the death of a loved one. The fourth edition will last for 13 weeks. The interactive sessions feature biblical teaching on grief and the grieving process.
