Bad Religion to kick off Summer Concert Series at Rooftop at Pier 17

Autor: Gothamist

The punk rock bands Social Distortion and Bad Religion will kick off the Summer Concert Series at The Rooftop at Pier 17 with two shows in May, organizers announced on Wednesday.

The annual series brings a wide variety of musical artists to the venue for more than 60 concerts from May through October.

Other performers on the lineup include rock band NEEDTOBREATHE on May 31, rapper Isaiah Rashad on June 1, and singer Still Woozy on Aug. 8 and 9.

Everyday People, which produces large parties at various venues across the country, will bring DJ Moma and others to the rooftop on July 6.

The British rock band Nothing But Thieves will close out the series on Oct. 12.

“To have that experience of seeing your favorite act with the Brooklyn Bridge as the backdrop is something you’ll never forget,” said Craig Manfra, senior director of marketing at the Rooftop at Pier 17.

Stacie George, the senior vice president of booking at Live Nation, which promotes and co-produces the concert series with Pier 17, said that ticket prices for concerts will range from $25 to $125. Tickets are now on sale.

Manfra said over 180,000 people attended the shows last year.

Organizers said more shows will be announced in the coming weeks. Here are the confirmed dates.
