, Punjab BJP vice-president Subhash Sharma and district BJP chief Sanjeev Vashisht said that the party had always been taking advantage of dividing the country in the name of religion and caste.
The Congress’ manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections is “divisive”, the BP leaders said, adding that according to the election manifesto, the Congress was talking about conducting a caste-religion and wealth-based survey, thus, attempting to divide the people of the country.
During a meeting in Mohali on Wednesday, Sharma said: The Congress, which ruled the country for five decades, imposed dictatorship on the people of the country every time. This time, the party has written in its manifesto that if it comes to power, it will conduct a caste-religion and wealth-based survey in the entire country. According to this, if someone has more property than required, the govt will take it and distribute it among the minorities.”
Opposing the survey promise , he said this survey of the govt would to divide the people of the country on the basis of religion, because after this survey more than one house, land or gold and silver of people would be confiscated by the Congress.
With an internal debate going on regarding the announcement of the candidates, names of two persons are being considered for some seats. The High Command will announce its candidates for four seats in Punjab within a week, sources said. tnn
